Your own field for outdoor celebrations
Next to Hamps Hall and Barn there’s a large field you can use for free. It’s ideal for a summer wedding marquee or tipi, a corporate team-building day or a family sports tournament.
Past guests have created some magnificent marquee spaces here, and the field has hosted everything from ceremonies to tug of war, egg and spoon races and yoga classes.
If you’re planning a marquee, let us know at least a month in advance so we can cut the grass, and plan for set-up and take-down within your check-in and check-out times.

Is the field free to use?
Yes. The field next to Hamps Hall and Barn is included with your stay.
Can we put up a marquee or tipi?
Yes. Please tell us at least a month before your stay so we can cut the grass. The marquee must be put up and taken down within your check-in and check-out times. See our recommended tipi companies.
Can we have music in the marquee?
Acoustic music, such as a harpist, string quartet or acoustic guitar, is allowed outdoors until 8pm. Amplified music, DJs and bands aren’t allowed in the marquee or outdoors, and are only allowed inside Hamps Barn.
Is the field flat?
Not completely, but it has been used successfully for wedding ceremonies, marquee receptions and outdoor activities.
What isn’t allowed in the field?
Quad biking, fireworks, balloons and anything else that could damage the field.
Can we invite day guests?
Yes, at £25 per day guest, and they need to leave by midnight.
