Views of the Peak District from Hamps Hall and Barn

Fabulous Pet-friendly Holiday Venue

Hamps Hall & Barn welcomes your pets. As much-loved members of your family they should go on holiday with you too and your dogs will love Hamps Hall & Barn as much as you do!  All breeds are welcome – however energetic,  large or small. Our pet-friendly accommodation is situated off a quiet lane with virtually no passing traffic. Plus, you have several acres fields (left to grass) for those energetic ball games and runarounds.

Surrounding you is the beautiful Peak District National Park. You can walk straight from the front door onto footpaths leading to the Hamps Valley and further to the famous Dove Dale and beyond. On many of the local paths and lanes you are likely to have the scenery all to yourself (but it’s likely that your dog will be too busy enjoying the space to notice the amazing views!).

Please note that there is a small cleaning charge of £30 per dog.

Pet-friendly Features Throughout

We have equipped our pet-friendly accommodation with solid sturdy floors throughout the ground floor. Hence, if in the excitement of coming home, your doggy places his muddy paws all over the living room you have no need to panic about cleaning carpets!  This makes our dog-friendly venue the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break!

As there is plenty of space in this Midlands holiday accommodation, we do not limit occupancy to just one dog. Great news if you have a larger pet family!

We only ask that your pets do not get on the furniture or into the bedrooms. If this would be against what they are used to, please bring a sheet or blanket to cover furniture and just check there is no evidence of them having been up there!

Make sure to Pack

Their favourite dog bed – so they are familiar with the smell and comfort, to help them settle whilst away from home for a few days.

Their own dog bowl and collapsible water bowl is also a comfort for them. Don’t forget to bring a full water bottle for the journey or long doggy walks.

A collar with name tag. Ideally, add your mobile number so you can be contacted whilst on holiday. Don’t forget their lead too!

A favourite dog toy as there is loads of room for your dog to play!

A towel to dry them off and lots of poo bags to clear up their mess in the gardens and whilst out for walks. We ask that you fully check the grounds before leaving so there are no presents left for our gardeners to discover!

Dog Friendly Pubs in the Peak District

Dog food is available in the village shop (about one mile) or in the larger towns of Ashbourne or Leek (both about 7 miles), but if you are arriving late or if they have a particular favourite brand, it’s probably best to bring some with you (and don’t forget their favourite treat – a bit like the holiday ice cream we humans enjoy!).

We also recommend buying the Ordinance Survey Leisure Explorer map “White Peak OL24” before you come, so you can plan all those lovely walks! Please do follow the Countryside Code.

Finally, why not book lunch at pet-friendly The Red Lion which is just a short walk from our pet-friendly venue?

Do get in touch with us if you have any questions.  We are very happy to help and look forward to welcoming you to Hamps Hall and Barn!
