A wedding weekend, not just a day
Couples who marry at Hamps Hall and Barn don’t just hire a room for the evening. They take over a 17th-century farmhouse and its stone barn for the whole stay, with their closest friends and family sleeping under the same roofs.
Some go all out with a marquee in the field. Others keep it relaxed with food trucks, a disco and three days of celebrating at their own pace. Here are a few of the weddings we have hosted, in the couples’ own words and their photographers’ pictures.

The field and marquee
Room for a marquee and 120 guests
Hamps Hall and Barn has its own private field for a marquee, so you can host up to 80 day guests alongside the 40 who stay over. The barn is the place for amplified music and dancing, and the gardens are perfect for drinks, lawn games and acoustic sets until 8pm.

Planning your wedding
Good to know
- Receptions only. We don’t hold a wedding licence, so you marry at a local church or register office first, then celebrate here.
- Day guests are £25 each and leave by midnight.
- Music: amplified music inside the barn only. Acoustic music outdoors until 8pm.
- Check-in is 4pm and check-out 10am. Early check-in or late check-out can be added for £400.
- Tablecloths can be hired for £30 (barn) or £20 (hall).

Can you get married at Hamps Hall and Barn?
Hamps Hall and Barn hosts wedding receptions. We don’t hold a wedding licence, so couples marry at a local church or register office first. The village church is about a 10-minute walk away.
How many wedding guests can stay?
40 guests stay over in 18 bedrooms across the hall and the barn, and up to 80 more can join you for the day. Merrymeet, a 10-minute walk away, sleeps another 16.
Can we choose our own caterers and suppliers?
Yes. You have exclusive use, so you can bring in your own caterers, food trucks, bands and DJs. Our suppliers page lists local recommendations.
How long do couples stay for a wedding?
Many couples book the whole weekend. Both couples quoted on this page stayed for three nights with their friends and family.
Is there a curfew for wedding guests?
Day guests leave by midnight. Amplified music is played inside the barn, and acoustic music is allowed outdoors until 8pm.
